Just thought I'd throw in my own thoughts:
Best Picture:
I'd replace Inglourious Basterds with Bright Star
Best Actor:
Pretty solid choices I reckon
Best Actress:
I'd replace Meryl Streep with Emily Blunt (I'm really rooting for her) and Marion Cotillard with Michelle Monaghan, purely because I don't think Cotillard could be up there again so soon. Although I spose she stands a good chance at a nomination but the award would go to someone else on the night
Supporting Actor:
I may be going out on a limb here, but I'm going for Schneider, Gyllenhaal, Tucci, Damon and Sarsgaard
Supporting Actress:
Dame Judi is always a given I reckon, Mo'Nique, Sarandon, Carey and... maybe Moore, maybe Portman... I think this is possibly the weakest category but I'm (not-so)secretly rooting for the Nine girls
Best Director:
If a woman doesn't win this year I will be incredibly surprised - Bigelow, Campion, Scherfig, Eastwood, Marshall
Original Screenplay:
(500) Days, Bright Star, A Serious Man, The Hurt Locker, The Messenger
Adapted Screenplay:
I'd replace Invictus with The Lovely Bones
@ filmgeek: Those are some very solid choices. You seemed very lenient towards Bright Star, and that is a film I could definitely see getting nominations in the categories you mentioned. I have moved it out of the top five in most of its categories for now because the buzz has quieted a little bit, but I wouldn't be surprised if it slowly begins to regain its momentum.
In Supporting Actor, I think Schneider is a real possibility, but I see Gyllenhaal as on the outside looking in at this point, and likely to stay that way.
And for Supporting Actress, no love for the Up in the Air ladies?
As much as I want to see Up in the Air, I'm not really all that hot on the buzz for it yet so I'll reserve judgement for a few more weeks yet.
